The What? Why? When? Where? And How?
The lecture that bacteria just don’t want you attending.

• Location! Location! Location!
"Start with the end in mind". What if you don’t mind? Working length determination – Where is YOUR apex? When is being caught short satisfactory? Electronic or radiographic location?
Apical geography to ensure a suitable locality.
[Not suitable for Estate Agents]

::: LECTURE DAY - ONE :::

THE ENDODONTIC CHALLENGE!
Contemporary Root Canal Treatment
For The Thorough Practitioner

• Clean it, Shape it, Chance it?
A biological or mechanistic approach to endodontics? Which is the best? Do you suffer from Poor Performance, Low achievement or Premature failure? Five fundamental steps for improving your success. How to find difficult canals, and plot a "root" through difficult curves.

• Eat-In or Take-Away?
Pseudomonas and E-faecalis are not on the menu! These resistant bugs are more than a mere mouthful. Calcium hydroxide, IKI, CMCP and other "specialist" antimicrobial accompaniments to sink your teeth into. Which to choose? When to choose? And how not to bite off more than you can chew!

• Perfect Preparations?
Flares may not be the latest thing, but is Variable Taper up-to-the-minute? Greater Taper preparations can speed up your preparation, improve your disinfection and ease your filling! Where does canal preparation cease and apical refinement begin? How long is too long, and when to avoid being caught short? Some say: "Stimulating the apical topography to ensure a suitable locality, gets electrifying results." You might say: "Apex Locators – "Do I need one?"

• Revolutionary Evolution?
Or Evolutionary Revolution?

A "Rough" guide to rotary systems for the NiTi nibbler. Which is the best system for you? Safe and sound - Is it ever possible to create a reliable discard strategy?

• Filling Good ?
Obstinate obturation and frustrated fill? Why even be inconvenienced by fill? It all looks like white lines to me! What characterises a good fill and what are we trying to achieve? Is GP the gold standard, or even a first-class fill? Which sealer is superior?

Full Day Programme - £255 per day

::: LECTURE DAY - TWO :::

THE PULPAL CHALLENGE!
Care And Treatment Of The Pulp
– Both In Health And Disease

• Stressed Pulps – Stressed Teeth!
How healthy is that pulp? Pulpitis is generally painless! So which pulp is dying? Cracked, traumatised teeth and pulps? How to test pulps and diagnose pulpal problems. The management of damaged and avulsed teeth. Can you stop root filled teeth from discolouring or root resorption occurring? Bye-Bye Pulp - When would you extirpate to save a tooth?

• Five Great Ways to Kill Teeth!
Pins, crowns and local anaesthetics kill pulps
– so why use them?

• Generation-X
Is your dentine bonding system generation 5, 6 or 007? Are you generation X, Y or Z? The operator is more "hazardous" than the dentine bonding system! Is that smear layer full of microbes? Should it stay or should it go? Good choice! But where is that margin: dentine, enamel or cementum? Do you let the system decide, or do you decide the system?

• Coffin Lids
A pulp capping post-mortem. Success rates for pulp capping vary from 10-90%. In poor shape; or in the pink? How do you leave your pulps? What makes Pulpal Providence? God or Gambler? Which are you? How to kill pulps... and... how to kill less pulps. The actions you can take to avoid becoming a pulp undertaker.

• Only the "Wise" Leave Caries!
"Step-wise" excavation is not new. Dentists have been leaving caries for decades. Do you? Should you?

• What’s Hot And What’s Not!
90% of facial pain is pulpal? Sizzling Pulps - How to control pain and manage emergencies. "Keep taking the pills!" Ethical antibiotic therapy in the modern era. When should you get the prescription pad out?

Full Day Programme - £255 per day
